Lawnmower

  • Lawnmower:In the barn main hall on the left side.
  • Gasoline: In the barn main hall on the right side on the bench. The canister is labelled with “super”.
  • Oil: In the barn main hall on the right side on the bench. The canister is green.
  • Check if the the gasoline tank is full: Open the lid with the gasoline symbol and check if you see a liquid. If there is no liquid fill it with gasoline. Not to the top only to ca. 5cm below the closing. Close the lid again.
  • Check if the oil is full: Open the lid and you should have an oil indicator at the lid. Clean it with a rag, paper towel or tissue. Close the lid and open it again. If you see oil between the lower mark and the upper mark it's OK. If you don't see oil between the marks, fill it with oil. Not to much. If you not sure how much oil you need, do small steps and check how high the level was risen.
  • Check if the lawnmower is clean underneath and the rotor is not stuck. If so, clean it. Check also if the grass bag is full. If so, empty it on the compost.
  • Move anything away from the area you will mow later (hoes, cables, stones maybe, dog fences[make sure the dog is in his closed cage],…). Maybe you have to move some bigger stuff later from not jet mowed areas to already mowed areas - like chairs or tables.

Use the finger pump in front of the lawnmower (red rubber button) and push it up to three times. Go back to the handle and hold the front lever while you pull the starter string (don't use to much strength). The machine should start with the right speed of pulling the starter string.

Repeat Starting first time without using the finger pump: Go to the handle and hold the front lever while you pull the starter string (don't use to much strength). The machine should start with the right speed of pulling the starter string.

Hold the lever you started with and pull the other also to let the lawnmower drive forward. Let it loose for slowing down or stopping.

You can hear if the motor goes slow or if it's running fast. If the motor goes too slow the motor will go off. This can have multiple reasons: 1. grass to high, 2. grass bag is full, or 3. the rotor is stuck. In any case you have to do something about it.

  1. Sometimes when the grass is to high mow only with half of the lawnmower (only with the left or right side). Otherwise the motor will go off and you have to clean the lawnmower underneath before starting it again.
  2. Empty the grass bag with the grass that stopped the rotor on the compost.
  3. Sometimes the motor gets stuck and you have to clean the lawnmower underneath. Check for things that wrapped around the rotor and clean it.

When you are done:

  • Fill the gasoline tank again.
  • Fill the oil tank again.
  • Empty the grass bag. Otherwise it will mold and rust
  • Clean the lawnmower from beneath. Otherwise it will mould and rust.
  • Put it back where the lawn mower and all the stuff you used where you got it from or it belongs.
