Vegan Schmalz

(Amounts depends on how much onions you want to use)

  • Onions
  • Herbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Plant fat - 1kg for every 3kg of onion
  1. Chop the onions in small pieces and put in a large oven tray
  2. Chop plant fat is cubes
  3. Add salt, pepper, herbs and mix well
  4. Put in the oven at medium heat for an hour, stirring it every 15 min
  5. Sterilize jars
  6. Take onions out of the oven and scoop into jars
  7. Leave to cool
  8. Store in a cool, dry place.
