Vegan Schmalz
Ingredients
(Amounts depends on how much onions you want to use)
- Onions
- Herbs
- Salt
- Pepper
- Plant fat - 1kg for every 3kg of onion
Method
- Chop the onions in small pieces and put in a large oven tray
- Chop plant fat is cubes
- Add salt, pepper, herbs and mix well
- Put in the oven at medium heat for an hour, stirring it every 15 min
- Sterilize jars
- Take onions out of the oven and scoop into jars
- Leave to cool
- Store in a cool, dry place.
