Young Coders Summer Camp 2020

Wir laden junge Coder/Programmierer (Alter 10 bis 14) ein, um eine Woche zu lernen, wie man programmiert und ökologisch lebt.

Kuckucksmühle ist Teil der Eco Hacker Farm Community, hier mischen wir Permakultur mit Hackerkultur, um nachhaltig zu leben. Wir sind eine vielfältige Gemeinschaft mit fünf Menschen, die vor Ort leben (drei aus Deutschland, einer von Malta und einer aus England). Freiwillige aus aller Welt kommen, um bei gerade laufenden Projekten/Aufgaben und der Instandhaltung und Pflege der Farm zu helfen. Da wir eine internationale Gruppe sind, sprechen wir meistens englisch.

Das Programm wird mit den Teilnehmern zusammen entworfen, also lass uns Deine Programmierfähigkeiten und Deine Interessen wissen, damit wir etwas für jeden haben. Die Idee ist, dass wir praktische Anwendungen für unseren Code und unsere Prototypen, die wir zusammen während des Camps entwickeln, finden, welche vor Ort verwendet werden können und dass jeder dies woanders nachbauen kann. Der ganze Code ist Open Source und online frei zugänglich, um verbessert und angepasst zu werden.

The program is shaped in collaboration with the attendants and includes animal care, meal preparation and various programming languages and also non coding topics such as version control tools, prototyping, app design, different licenses etc.

As we want to instill in our young coders - open source culture - we will encourage participants to record their experience, write good quality code and share it publicly on Gitlab and on this wiki.

Based on previous year's calculations, 5 days of coding camp come to 350€ or 70€ per coding camp day.

This covers coding workshops, day activities around the farm and evening social games and hangout activities.

A camp day starts at 9am and ends at 11pm (except on night walks we could be a little longer).

If you want to sleep in a shared tent you should also bring

Depending on demand the dates may be a little flexible, let us know what dates are good for you and then we can see what we can do.
