Signs in the garden have multiple needs to fulfill.
Franz came up with a simple idea to mark every plant with this simple solution made from wire and plastic “garbage”:
You can also use the plastic sheets for your seedlings and later put it on to the wire.
You have to cut thicker wire into 50cm and bend it with pliers one and a quarter turn. The end should look upwards, you can even bend it around the wire to have a nice closed loop.
You cut plastic sheets and put a hole in it with a hole puncher. Now cut the thinner wire and knot the plastic sheet through the hole. Label the plastic sheet with a permanent marker.
For the identifier: If you want to make it really good, you should have a database/spread sheet/table with all your plants and each plant should have an unique identifier. The identifier belongs on the sign. You can use the identifiers again when a plant died.
